i just have to say thanks. i have the coolest siblings (ah, heck, family) and friends ever!

could you believe that I:

1.had an excellent birthday filled with lots of laughter and singing
2.got to see two beautiful (inside and out =) people get married
3.saw lots of water (and had to pee =)
4.returned home from a long, tiring day of air travel to FOUR birthday phone messages!!
5.received many birthday cards and e-mails!

wow! that's great. thanks a bunch, guys. i love you all....

now, back to work (it's that end-of-the-semester rush again...)

p.s. did you know that jewerly companies actually make sterling silver donkey charms? me neither, but i got one now!! thanks, savita!! =)

i lied...

there seems to be a resurgent interest in my life (or rather, my blog) so i guess that means that i need to write some more on this buddy.

but, this is not really the time since i a so busy i can't believe that i am actually procrastinating (i call this a "break"). anyways, i've got lots on my plate right now--research paper on minorities in southwestern china and the idea of nationalism within these groups, preparing for interviews, getting a job, getting an apartment (check), getting ready for a friend's wedding, reading, reading, reading (do i need glasses? perhaps...). so, i will leave you with this wonderful sentence:

three more weeks of this work and then i am going to florida for a vacation!
